Ngorongoro National Park

Arusha National Park is dominated by Mt Meru (4,562m/14,967ft), Tanzania’s second-highest peak after Mt Kilimanjaro. The popular climb takes four days. A day hike to Meru Crater is less challenging, but very rewarding too.

Why Visit Ngorongoro?

Ngorongoro is one of Africa’s most extraordinary safari destinations.
Formed over two million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a self-contained ecosystem supporting an exceptional concentration of wildlife.

It is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day, while also offering deep cultural and historical significance through the Maasai people and nearby Olduvai Gorge — the Cradle of Humankind.

Highlights

  • UNESCO World Heritage Site

  • One of Africa’s densest wildlife areas

  • Stronghold of the endangered black rhino

  • Big Five sightings possible in one day

  • Close to Olduvai Gorge & Laetoli

  • Living Maasai culture within the conservation area

Early morning inside the crater. The lions were still resting after a long night hunt — moments like these remind me why every safari is different.
