This Guide Agreement applies to safari guides, walking guides, cultural guides, birding guides, mountain guides, city guides, destination specialists, and local experts listed or promoted on Safaripedia. By creating or maintaining a guide profile, the guide agrees to comply with this Agreement, Safaripedia's Terms and Conditions, and applicable laws.

This Guide Agreement applies to safari guides, walking guides, cultural guides, birding guides, mountain guides, city guides, destination specialists, and local experts listed or promoted on Safaripedia.

By creating or maintaining a guide profile, the guide agrees to comply with this Agreement, Safaripedia's Terms and Conditions, and applicable laws.

2. Guide Eligibility

Guide Eligibility

Guides must have the necessary skills, experience, permits, or licenses required for the guiding services they offer.

Safaripedia may request:

  • Identification details.
  • Guide license.
  • Training certificate.
  • Work experience.
  • Areas of expertise.
  • Languages spoken.
  • References.
  • Insurance details, where applicable.
  • Emergency contact details.
  • Photos or professional profile.
3. Accuracy of Profile

Accuracy of Profile

Guides must provide accurate information about:

  • Name or professional guide name.
  • Location.
  • Languages spoken.
  • Destinations covered.
  • Special skills.
  • Experience.
  • Certifications.
  • Rates.
  • Availability.
  • Services offered.
  • Safety limitations.
Guides must not exaggerate experience, falsely claim certification, or misrepresent their expertise.
4. Professional Conduct

Professional Conduct

Guides listed on Safaripedia must act professionally and respectfully. Guides must:

  • Prioritize traveler safety.
  • Follow park and destination rules.
  • Respect wildlife and natural habitats.
  • Respect local communities and cultural sites.
  • Communicate clearly with travelers.
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct.
  • Avoid alcohol or substance misuse while guiding.
  • Decline unsafe or illegal traveler requests.
  • Protect traveler privacy.
5. Safety and Responsibility

Safety and Responsibility

Guides must explain relevant safety rules before and during activities.

For higher-risk activities such as walking safaris, mountain trekking, boating, cycling, or remote-area experiences, guides must ensure that travelers understand the nature of the activity and any limitations.

Guides should not accept assignments beyond their qualifications, licensing, or physical capacity.

6. Bookings and Payments

Bookings and Payments

Unless Safaripedia directly handles the booking, guides are responsible for agreeing payment terms directly with travelers or operators.

Guides should clearly communicate:

  • Service fee.
  • Currency.
  • Deposit requirement.
  • Included services.
  • Excluded costs.
  • Cancellation terms.
  • Refund terms.
  • Meeting point and time.
  • Duration of service.
7. Content and Story Sharing

Content and Story Sharing

Safaripedia may highlight guides through field stories, interviews, destination insights, photos, videos, or expert tips.

Guides who submit content confirm that it is original, truthful, and does not violate the rights of others.

Guides grant Safaripedia permission to use submitted content for platform, editorial, marketing, educational, and promotional purposes.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Prohibited Conduct

Guides must not:

  • Mislead travelers.
  • Promote illegal wildlife interaction.
  • Engage in bribery or fraud.
  • Harass travelers or other providers.
  • Share traveler personal data without consent.
  • Encourage unsafe behavior.
  • Offer services they are not qualified to provide.
  • Damage protected areas or cultural heritage.
  • Use Safaripedia leads for scams or dishonest conduct.
9. Suspension or Removal

Suspension or Removal

Safaripedia may suspend or remove a guide profile if there is evidence of:

  • False qualifications.
  • Traveler complaints.
  • Unsafe guiding.
  • Illegal activity.
  • Harassment or abuse.
  • Fake reviews.
  • Misuse of traveler information.
  • Repeated failure to respond professionally.
  • Violation of responsible tourism standards.
