About Nyerere National Park

Nyerere National Park is Tanzania's largest national park and one of Africa's last great wilderness areas. Covering over 30,000 km², the park was established in 2019 from part of the historic Selous Game Reserve and is named after Tanzania's founding father, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. The park offers an authentic safari experience with fewer crowds, abundant wildlife, and unique activities such as boat safaris and walking safaris.
